INTRODUCTION
Hello! My name is John Sellers and I am the creator of this little game I have named Suros. I suppose the best place to start is what the heck this is and whats up with this game. Really you can find most answers to what this game is all about on the FRONT PAGE of this website. This game truly is just a passion project of mine that I have been hacking away at for many, many, many years. Since I am really not in it for the money I just jump into creating parts of the game when I feel like it. If some inspiration hits I will go mad with creating cards, new enemies and making fun new rules to kill some players with! At times I would get burnt out on the development cycle and would simply put the game in the closet. Sometimes a year would go by without touching it until inspiration would hit and I would get back into crafting the game. 2024 is the year I believe I will finally release this game. It is not a BIG game to say, compared to other boss battlers, but I am very happy with it. My main goal was to create a very inexpensive entry point to the boss battling genre and ensure that I could produce every part of the game myself without outsourcing anything...and I did!
WHAT DO I ACTUALLY DO?
My day job is I own a sign company. We produce real estate signs, create custom graphics for businesses and some commercial signage like channel lettering, monument signs, LED signs, and so on. With my access to these large scale printing machine I used materials that I had available to create the entire game by myself. All of the cards are made of a thin plastic used for signs. The box is a blank mailer box I bought from ULINE and simply printed on it to create my game boxes. The tokens I buy off of Amazon and print stickers to attach to the bottoms. The end result ended up being a very unique game that is packed with love and art.
EXACT RELEASE DATE?
I don't know! Unfortunately for anyone reading this, it is done whenever it is done. I am very eager to complete it and release this but I am also a bit of an artist. Which means I kinda just do what I want. This is a good thing in my opinion as I have no investors of any sort pressuring to release something that is fine tuned. The entire game is playable and I spend many nights play testing. Heck, I play just to have fun by myself, it's a good 1-player game! I am very excited for anyone who is interested to chekc it out once it is released!
HOW MUCH IS IT?
My plan is to be in the $50 range. I still need to finish up some final things and crunch some numbers. I don't feel I need to make a ton of money off each sale but i DO feel i need to put out a product that i am absolutely proud of. This is such a small product that it will only be available online and at my local game store possibly(TBA).
In the pic at the top you can see my 1-player setup, which is pretty cool as it makes a nice little square with the bottom right an open space to roll dice. I really thought about the 1-player aspect of this game as I am literally the only dude making this game.
Until next time!
