JIBBY & PIGBOY BATTLE

Written by: | Posted on: | Category:

Alrighty, I think I will start off by giving an overview of how to beat the snot out of these two mutants. Jibby is a science experiment gone haywire. It uses telekinesis to control Pig Boy, who is dead. The original name for this boss was The Puppeteer, but it was kinda a long name and at the time I was playing A LOT of Kingdom Death with a friend whos cat's name was Jibby, so there yuh go! Jibby uses a series of chambers on the edge of the map where it swims about the tubes to avoid the players. To win this battle Jibby must be killed, and Pig Boy is also invulnerable. So why even attack Pig Boy? Well it has a separate type of HP on the mutant board called the Psionic Hold. This is JIbby's meter of how much control it has over Pig Boy. After attacking, y9ou move that meter down until it hits zero. The bad news is Pig Boy comes back to life with FULL HP at the beginning of the next round. The good news is, it skips it's turn on the round you killed it! This becomes a dance of when you actually want to attack Pig Boy since the turn order is randomized every round. this means you may be able to kill it BUT if it already took it's turn this round than you are out of luck! Ichor tokens also spew out of Pig Boy's body when it is killed which the player can collect and lay traps with them in the chambers for Jibby to stumble upon. On the bottom left of the map you can see what those effects of the trap can be, the main one is stopping it from drawing a Psionics card. Psionics will sap AP from players, cause you to lose HP and other things. You will find in this battle that there is a lot of "gambling" going on. A lot of the cards will give you decisions with some risk involved. Jibby sometimes can even hurt itself! Speaking of Gambling, the CHEAT card is ridiculous. This is why you want to get Ichor tokens in the chamber to attempt it from drawing this card. And if you think that one is bad, DOUBLE CHEAT is worse! Double Cheat is only for the level 3 battle though. Speaking of levels, it gets intense as you move up. Jibby does a bunch of gambling and Pig Boy does a lot of Punching. Pig Boy is relentless when it comes to attacks, like one of its card that has that name. Even if that card completely misses, you just have to play it again. Lariat will hit everyone as it spins out of control along the board. And the level 3 cards are ridiculous. Makin Bacon rolls 4 attack dice, and the average player only has 10HP! This attack has a range of 2 so it also hits you from basically the entire map. If you think that sounds terrible it actually gets much worse. Starting at level 2, Pig Boy takes 2 turns in a round, so getting that Psionic Hold down to stop it becomes even more enticing, which also makes it harder to focus attacks on Jibby! Sometimes you may catch a break though, events will help the players out at times. Micro Nap gives the player a chance to really put a beating on Jibby by rolling extra attack dice. Jibby will often pit the player against each other though. With Mind Control it is up to YOU to decided who must suffer the consequences, which is a fun way of the people playing feel like they are being toyed with. Last but not least is Aggressive Scheme. This card mentions the isolation chamber. This is the top left spot on the map where no player can even reach, leaving JIbby invulnerable for the round.
And that's about it for the battle. Rounds will be played through as new events are drawn and last man standing wins!
