The goat collapses and sinks into the earth like a memory being erased. From its hollowed belly billowing yellow ichor swirls up, an oily cloud that smells like something you rememeber from your childhood but can’t quite place what that is. It boils and yawns, swelling with hungry bubbles until something snaps free: a red pole spat into the dirt as the cloud dissolves into nothing. You drag the pole free. Cold runs along its length, and when you think a thought, a hard command, it unfurls, stretching into impossible lengths as if obeying muscle memory. It hums with potential, a weapon born from rot, hungry to be used.
