SPECIAL RULES
Players must attempt to find The Unknown Beast and kill it before it overpowers you. Shadows will be sent out from the depths of The Darkest Chamber to prevent you from ever reaching it. Attacking shadows is futile as they are not real and do not lose HP. They can however be hurt in other ways. When a shadow is attacked players draw from the wound deck where mysterious things can happen. They must draw cards to learn how to defend themselves from these shadows and gain Ichor. When a player has Ichor they can use it on new abilities they have gained from successful wounds or venture into The Darkest Chamber. the Unknown Beast is fragile but very good at keeping enemies away by constantly bringing forth new shadows and overwhelming players. Every shadow on the map will draw it's own attack card and having it’s own weak spot exposed.
LORE
Beneath the ruins of Ernie’s lab, in a basement untouched by time or light, something stirs. At its center yawns a pit, a spiraling wound in the earth that twists endlessly downward. From its depths rises a low, rhythmic hum, as though the planet itself were whispering warnings too late to heed. You descend into the tunnels, the air thick with static and decay. The vial of Ichor in your hand begins to pulse, slowly at first, then faster, its glow syncing with some unseen heartbeat below. It quivers in response to unseen signals, guiding you through the branching corridors, urging you ever deeper toward the lair of the Unknown Beast. Shadows slither across the stone, their movements erratic, half-formed. They cling to the edges of your vision, crawling over the walls like thoughts you can’t quite catch. With each step, they multiply—feeding on your fear, gaining shape and definition. By the time you realize what they are, it’s already too late. They are no longer shadows. They are intent, pure, unfiltered violence made flesh.
