CALYPTOAD

SETUP
1. Place an Ichor token on every space on the maps edge.
2. Place Calyptoad in the center zone facing any direction.
3. Place Tadpoles, each in a random zone in any open space.
• Level 1 - 3 Tadpoles
• Level 2 - 4 Tadpoles
• Level 3 - 5 Tadpoles
4. Shuffle 10 Attack Cards and then add the appropriate level 2 and 3 cards to the deck.
5. Place each player in a random zone in any open space.
6. Shuffle the Event Deck and place it on the mutant board.

ORDER OF OPERATIONS
1. Draw an Event Card.
2. Shuffle and reveal the turn order cards.
3. Players and enemies take their turn then flips their turn order card over.
4. Move Jibby to a random chamber. If the dice roll is a 0, move it to a chamber of your choice.
5. Draw a Psionics Card.

WIN CONDITION
Kill Calyptoad.

SPECIAL RULES
At the beginning of every round, place an Ichor token in a random zone, in a space farthest from all players. If a token is placed on a space occupied by a tadpole, place that token on that enemies token. When a tadpole is killed, gain 1 Ichor token plus any additional token it carries. Ichor tokens can only be used on a players turn. The center space is a zone but has no number.

LORE
Calyptoad and its swarm of tadpoles were once ordinary creatures of the marsh until prolonged exposure to the leaking Ichor transformed them. Now their eyes glow with an eerie luminescence, the substance seeping into the waters around them and spreading the contamination further with every ripple. The marsh breathes in rhythm with their movement, alive and unstable. The Ichor they release often gathers on lily pads, forming shimmering pools that players can collect and refine. Unlike most forms of the substance, this strain displays regenerative potential capable of enhancing a player’s vitality or energy reserves when properly contained. Calyptoad’s behavior is unpredictable. It leaps without warning, vanishing into the thick marshy waters only to reappear elsewhere in a sudden crash of movement. Its tadpoles act as extensions of its will, swarming across the battlefield to corner and confuse intruders. Success requires precision and positioning; only those who can anticipate its erratic rhythm stand a chance. When defeated, Calyptoad’s remains hold valuable data and resources. Ernie can use these samples to design new gear and deepen the ongoing investigation into the source of the Ichor and the accelerating mutations it brings.
